Panther Pick Up—a project to help the environment while benefiting the community - will be held Thursday & Friday of Finals Week. Rather than pitching stuff when you move out of your residence hall or apartment, donate your usable items - including running shoes, mattresses, carpets and books!

On Campus Reuse and Recycling Opportunities
St. Vincent de Paul, The Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity will have trucks with Panther Pick Up banners on them. They will be accepting:
- Clothing - all styles and conditions (torn or stained clothing will be recycled)
- Housewares - lamps, dishes, microwaves, fans, televisions (no broken items, please)
- Linens, towels, comforters
- Furniture - must be in good condition and without heavy stains
- Books, CDs, DVDs
- Accessories - shoes, purses, belts, scarves, jewelry
- Computers and related peripherals
- Bicycles
They will not accept any item needing repair, except computers.

On Campus Metal Recycling
Metal items that are not accepted by St. Vincent de Paul and The Salvation Army are still useful! Damaged metal futon frames, metal lamps (bulbs removed), bike frames, bent or broken silverware, wires/cables, and other metal "stuff" can be recycled on campus. Sorry, no appliances or electronics of any type will be accepted in these containers. (See above for list of usable electronics that will be accepted by the charitable organizations.).

Off Campus Reuse and Recycling Opportunities
Do you live off-campus, but want to donate items? Please call St. Vincent de Paul at 232-3366 to schedule the pick up of usable furniture, computers, keyboards, printers, computer accessories, and other larger items. St. Vincent de Paul usually picks items up within one to two weeks of a phone call, and are able to make Saturday pick-ups. A limited number of pick-ups can be made in a day, so plan ahead. No large appliances please.
Off Campus Disposal of Large Items
The Cedar Falls Public Works Department will collect, for disposal, large unusable items placed at the curbside on a call in basis. Please call the department at 273-8629 at least 24 hours in advance of the requested pickup. Call on Monday through Friday between 7 am and 4 pm to schedule a pick up. For details please visit here.
Collected for a $5.00 fee:
Furniture, mattresses, carpet, bikes, exercise equipment, grills, DVD players, stereos, and more items
Collected for an additional fee of $5.00:
Computers and televisions
Collected for an additional fee of $7.50:
Refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, air conditioners, and other appliances
